Teri
We’ve had a whirlwind ride since leaving Georgia Saturday.
Sunday we spoke with a group of women at a Bible study, then we sped off and spoke with a group of 7th grade girls, then we ran like mad and spoke with a small congregation at a Spanish speaking church, then we hung out with college students and talked about how big God is. It was powerful (and tiring).
Yesterday was more low key but not any less powerful. We sat around a kitchen table with some pretty incredible women. We talked about life and pain and dreams and God over a cup of coffee.
Each woman had a story of great pain and woundedness. They also had a story to share of how God brings beauty from the ashes. We talked about how often God uses pain to ignite a passion. And that is exactly what God is doing.
For example, Carol lost her beloved husband a few years ago. God is helping turn her grief into something beautiful. Her passion is to help other women grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. She’s talking to women about moving through the grief process with Christ.
Here’s what she said:
I don’t know how to do it except through my God.
I know this is an exciting time in my life. I don’t have any ties. My kids are grown. My “children” now are my four hairy cats and my dog. I have a mortgage. I have the clothes on my back.
And I have my Jesus. I want to turn the world upside down like Paul did.
We have a lost community all around us. I can reach out to my community. One person at a time.
I can mentor other women. One woman at a time.
We can grow together each day. It’s exponential once God starts working.
Heather’s dream is to serve deaf children in Panama. Kim’s passion for counseling others is growing into a dream.
God is on the move…
We may not know how to do it but we have Jesus and we want to turn the world upside down.
Heather, Carol, and Kim

God brings beauty from ashes and uses pain to ignite passion…. Good words from the field ladies. I love that you are out talking with the kids too about how BIG God is. Nice work. Love it!! Always encouraging and inspiring. Glory to God.
